Boback landed at Normandy, fighting in the Invasion of France, Holland, the Battle of the Bulge, Bastogne, and the Invasion of Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, having been wounded in Holland from gunshots in the neck and back. This fantastic grouping
